    Strengthen Your Countertop

    1. Cutting a piece of 0.75-inch (1.9-cm) plywood, to help strengthen your cabinet top surface.
    • Get an oversized rocking board with the same dimensions for the table top pattern. Place it on the table top, press it against the wall again, then use it again, marking the area that need strimming. Cut the laminate to size and use a circular saw to punch holes for the sink.
      • When measuring and cutting plywood, pay attention to the worktop edge overhang.
    1. Screws should be inserted through the cabinets to secure the plywood to them.
    • Go to a low spot under the countertop and use a drill to hit one corner of the cabinet brace. Attach the laminate to the countertop using the screws vertically. Spacing between screws is 8 to10 inches (20 to 25cm) .Make sure the plywood is level on all cabinets before drilling.
    1. Covering the plywood with a layer of waterproofing membrane, to ensure safety.
    • Go to a low spot under the countertop and tap one of the corners with a drill.
    • Place a small, low roll in  a paint container with a water proof membrane. Apply the membrane to the entire surface of the plywood. Allow to dry over night be fore proceeding with installation.
      • The impregnated film protects the plywood from being soaked in tempting moisture, which causes swelling.

    • A wet saw is the best tool for cutting The large amount of dust that would otherwise be generate dis minimized. Place the saw just outside the drawn line and slowly cut the granite block with the saw blade.
    4. Polish the granite slabs edges using a wet grinding wheel. 
    • Turn on your grinder and place the rounded edge of the tool near the edge of the granite you want to Once you are satisfied with the smoothness , slowly drag the pinwheel along the edge of the board.
    5. Place the sink in place and caulk the rims at the top and bottom.
